Education

Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Learning

At Adams Brown Head Start, we believe every child is capable, curious, and eager to learn. Our educational program is designed to support the whole child by fostering growth in language, literacy, mathematics, science, physical development, social-emotional skills, and creative expression.

Through meaningful interactions, hands-on learning experiences, and strong family partnerships, we help children develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

Our Curriculum: The Creative Curriculum®

Adams Brown Head Start uses The Creative Curriculum® to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children. This research-based curriculum encourages exploration, discovery, and active learning through play and hands-on activities.

The Creative Curriculum supports children's development in all learning domains by:

  • Promoting language and literacy skills
  • Encouraging early math and science exploration
  • Supporting social and emotional development
  • Building problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Fostering creativity, independence, and confidence

Teachers create engaging classroom environments that inspire curiosity and allow children to learn through meaningful experiences aligned with each child's developmental needs.

Social-Emotional Learning Through Conscious Discipline®

At Adams Brown Head Start, we recognize that social and emotional development is just as important as academic learning. That's why we implement Conscious Discipline®, a comprehensive social-emotional learning program that helps children develop the skills needed to build healthy relationships and successfully manage emotions.

Through Conscious Discipline, children learn to:

  • Recognize and express their feelings appropriately
  • Develop self-regulation and self-control
  • Build positive relationships with peers and adults
  • Solve problems peacefully
  • Practice empathy, kindness, and cooperation

By creating safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom communities, we help children gain the emotional skills necessary for success in school and in life.
